-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have three openings for entry-level post-doctoral trainees who are
planning a research career in behavioral/psychiatric genetics. The
first position will involve working on a twin-family study of
adolescent alcohol, tobacco and illicit substance use. The second
will involve working on a twin study of childhood attention
deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and is especially suited for someone
who wants to learn about QTL mapping in humans. The third involves
participation in the development of a program of nicotine challenge
research on smoking-discordant twins, and may be of particular
interest to candidates with experience of EEG /evoked potential
research. Two positions are available effective July 1st, and a third
effective September 1st. Additional openings are anticipated in the
near future, so candidates with other areas of research interest are
also encouraged to apply.

Applicants will be expected to play an active role in the analysis of
existing data-sets, leading to first-author publications, but will
also participate in large ongoing studies in behavioral genetics,
gaining experience of the running of such projects. Partial support
for course fees to take advanced level courses in quantitative
methods, molecular genetics, neuroscience or related areas is
available. Trainees also receive a travel allowance for meeting
attendance, and additional funds to cover research expenses.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and have
recently completed the PhD, or anticipate completion by the
start-date. Applications from minority candidates are strongly
encouraged. For further details, contact me at the above email
address or phone numbers.
