This message is to announce a position for either pre-doctoral or
postdoc research at the University of Utah Psychiatry Department. We
have multiple data sets, including Utah families with schizophrenia,
Utah families with manic-depression, and several large schizophrenia
families from the genetically isolated population of Palau, Micronesia.
We are seeking an individual interested in working on linkage analysis
of these families, and on linkage disequilibrium in the Palau sample.
All schizophrenia samples also contain information on various
psysiological phenotypes correlated with schizophrenia which have
potential for quantitative analysis.
Responsibilities will primarily include planning and carrying out
analyses, though depending upon interest and experience, there can also
be opportunities for diagnostic updating and collection of diagnostic
information on upcoming family generations, and/or testing with the
physiological phenotyping equipment. We have excellent lab and computer
facilities, and a vast amount of phenotype and genotype data on unique
families just waiting to be analyzed.
