Dear BGA Members:

With the help of Jim Wilson, Lee Ehrman and Steve Maxson, I have added
several things to the BGA web page to help us remember our time in
Stockholm. These include photographs of Stockholm taken by BGA attendees,
photos of the Dobzhansky and Thompson awardees, and other photos of the
conference. In addition, the full text of Stephen Maxson's Dobzhansky
Award acceptance speech is available. All of this can be found at
http://www.bga.org/1998/ or from a link at http://www.bga.org/.

For those who were not able to attend, I think the award winners were not
announced to the membership, so I'll announce them now. The Dobzhansky
Award, the Association's senior award for outstanding research
accomplishment in the field of behavioral genetics, went to Stephen C.
Maxson. The Thompson Award, the Association's award for outstanding
research accomplishment by an associate member, was shared by two winners
this year:

Javier Gayan for his oral presentation, "Quantitative Trait Locus for
Specific Language and Reading Deficits on Chromosome 6p," and

Alexander Weiss for his oral presentation, "The heritability of
personality factors in zoo chimpanzees Pan troglodytes."

The abstracts for their presentations are available at the following URLs:

Regards,

Mike
