There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral research associate to work under
the direction of Drs. Michael Neale and Kenneth Kendler in the analysis
of multivariate psychiatric, personality and information-processing data
from families of individuals with schizophrenia, bipolar illness and
matched community controls. The goal of this research is to try to
clarify the nature of the genetic/familial vulnerability or
vulnerabilities to schizophrenia. Experience in quantitative genetics
or statistics is required and experience with multivariate analytic
methods and/or segregation analysis is desirable. Model development and
application, using the computer package Mx, will be required. It is
expected that the candidate will have time to develop his or her own
areas of interest in the context of this research effort. Funding, at a
salary range of $25,000-35,000, depending on prior experience, is
available for a two year period. Health insurance will be provided.
