Dear BGA member,
We hope you want to remain a member of the ISTS, or, if you have not
been a member before, that you will join. The Society has been
revitalized during the last few years, and as you may know, this year
we have launched a new journal called Twin Research. This ensures a
forum devoted to research on and about twins and other multiples, and
will help ensure that a high scientific profile for ISTS. To make it a
success, the Society needs to enroll as many members as possible. If
you pay the 1998 dues you will receive all the back issues of the
Journal.
The 9th International Congress on Twin Studies was held in Helsinki
this June, and members benefitted from lower registration fees. This
will be the policy also at future meetings sponsored by the society,
such as that to held next summer on Multiple Pregnancies in Italy.
Further information on the activities of the Society is posted at the
society website (http://kate.pc.helsinki.fi/twin/ists.html), and is
included in newsletters.
Enclosed is a combined membership application and dues payment form.
Payments made by VISA or EURO/MASTER card are the most convenient and
least expensive.
If you do use a bank transfer, please be sure that your name will be
on the transfer papers from the bank to the treasurer.
For those paying by check, we ask that you add an extra $10 to cover
the bank expenses.
