There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral research associate to work under
the direction of Drs. Kenneth Kendler and Carol Prescott in the analysis
of twin and family data on genetic and environmental influences on
affective, anxiety, alcohol and other substance disorders (including
nicotine, caffeine and illicit substances).
The goals of this research are to clarify the nature of the
genetic/familial vulnerability to these disorders, and to identify
characteristics (including comorbid disorders, personality styles,
life events) which may moderate or mediate this vulnerability.
Experience in multivariate analytic methods is required. Experience
with analysis of twin and family data is desirable. It is expected
that the candidate will have time to develop his or her own
areas of interest in the context of this research effort. Funding, at a
salary range of $25,000-35,000, depending on prior experience, is
available for a two year period. Health insurance will be provided.
Funds are available immediately.
