December 8, 2000
Dear Member:
This mailing contains the 2001 Dues Notice, Membership Application Forms, information about the 2001 Annual Meeting of the Behavior Genetics Association, to be held in Cambridge, England July 8-11, and the Minutes of the 2000 Annual Meeting.
We would like to encourage you to extend your membership by paying the 2001 dues and to take an active role in recruiting new members, both Regular and Associate.
An election ballot and brief biographies of the candidates running for this year's elections for the positions for President-Elect, Secretary and Member-at-Large are enclosed. Please cast your vote and return your ballot with the BGA corporate seal intact by February 2, 2001.
Mailing materials also include the Call for Papers, Posters and Symposia; Submission of Abstracts and Registration Form. We advise you to make your hotel reservations now. The deadline for suggestions for symposia for the BGA Annual Meeting is March 2, 2001. Abstracts should be submitted by email to bga2001abs@bga.org by March 2, 2001. Instructions are enclosed. This year, we will again publish abstracts in the November issue of Behavior Genetics, so that members have the opportunity of revising abstracts after the meeting. However, only paper titles and authors, not abstracts, will be published in the meeting program booklet.
Student members residing outside Europe should note the availability of a limited number of partial bursaries. An applicant should be presenting a poster or oral paper, and submit with the abstract a curriculum vitae together with a letter of recommendation and statement of financial need from an academic sponsor familiar with the applicant's work and circumstances by March 2, 2001.
We are looking forward to another lively meeting in Cambridge.
Sincerely Yours,
Hermine H. Maes
Secretary, Behavior Genetics Association
