BEHAVIOR GENETICS ASSOCIATION
34th Annual Meeting
Aix en Provence, France
June 27-30, 2004
CALL FOR PAPERS, POSTERS AND SYMPOSIA
Any
regular or associate member of the Behavior Genetics Association is entitled to
submit one paper for oral presentation at the annual meeting, to appear as a
junior author on others (number unrestricted), and to offer an unrestricted
number of papers for poster presentation only.
With the exception of symposium or workshop appearances, a member may be
first author on only one paper given orally and, as first author, should
present the paper. The Program Committee
may invite distinguished non-members to take part in symposia or to give
special lectures. Except by invitation, a paper previously published or read at
another professional meeting may not be presented unless it is a substantial
elaboration of a preliminary report.
We
are urging all members to submit paper, poster and symposium abstracts by
email. The submission address is mcarlier@up.univ-aix.fr. All abstracts must conform to the
format given in the enclosed "SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS". Each abstract is limited to 300 words,
including citations. Please note that
citations must be given for references cited in the abstract. The deadline
for email submissions is March 15, 2004. You will receive an
immediate confirmation if your abstract is received in good order. If one or
more fields of the abstract are missing or in error, you will receive an
"unsuccessful transmission" message, with a reminder of the necessary
format. If email submission is not
possible, mailed or faxed submissions will be accepted if they are received one
month early (February 15, 2004) to allow time for conversion into email. See “SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS” for details.
The
Program Committee will try to meet requests for oral presentations or posters,
but final decisions will depend on scheduling constraints. Contributors to poster sessions are to post
their materials in a designated stall at a specified time and are to be in
attendance at a scheduled time for discussion with viewers. Authors of papers to be read aloud in topical
sessions are limited to 15 minutes, including questions.
Associate
members only are eligible for consideration for the Thompson Award with
either a poster or an oral presentation.
The author must be a student (or be reporting work recently done as a
student); he or she must be an active associate member of the Association; he
or she must be the sole or first author of the paper and the work must be
primarily his or her own. For a
submission to be considered for the award, "YES" must appear in the
THOMPSON field of the abstract.
Suggestions
for symposia or workshop sessions
should be sent to the chair of the Program Committee, Dr. Michèle Carlier, by
March 15, 2004 to be considered.
Earlier submission would be helpful.
Please include the names of people who have agreed to take part, an
outline of material to be covered, the amount of time requested in toto, and an
abstract for each talk.
