Description: The University of California, Merced is a dynamic new university campus in Merced, California, which opened in September 2005 as the tenth campus of the University of California and the first American research university in the 21st century. In keeping with the mission of the University to provide teaching, research and public service of the highest quality, UC Merced offers research-centered and student-oriented educational opportunities at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels through three academic schools: Engineering, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences/Humanities/Arts.
The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts invites applications from distinguished scholars and teachers at the Full/Associate level in Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine or Developmental Psychology. Research focus within these areas is open. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing faculty in Psychology at a new University of California campus. We are currently focusing on building excellence in Health Psychology, Quantitative Methods, and Developmental Psychology. Psychology is housed within a new purpose-designed building with generous lab space, and faculty enjoy a highly collaborative research environment.

Qualifications: We seek outstanding scholars who will establish and fund creative research programs, join in leading the development of a specialization in either Developmental or Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine, participate in the development of innovative interdisciplinary programs and research, and
teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in Developmental or Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine or a closely related field; a strong record of publication, leadership, and external grant funding; and interest in program-building. Selected applicants in the developmental area may be considered for an endowed chair with a focus on basic or applied research into learning disabilities or cognition, broadly defined.
Salary: Negotiable, based on the University of California Salary Scales
